WHAT HAPPENED IN THIS COMMITTEE? |

A crisis simulation, this committee dealt with the topic
of Unites States presence in Guantanomo Bay. The Cuban Cabinet engaged
in a series of causes and summit meeting with the United States to solve
the issue. In our scenario, Fidel Castro dies early on. His brother, President Raul Castro, after
issuing a few press releases, dies as well. Things got a little rough when
the United States cabinet refused to be involved in a summit meeting of
any sort, prompting Cuba to consider the possibility of war and to
collect future Latin American allies. When US President Barack Obama
attempted to diffuse the situation, the Cuban cabinet became even more
furious. A summit meeting was soon called. The
objective of this committee was to forge an agreement between the two nations
that would facilitate relations and hopefully return Guantanamo to Cuba. The
committee ended with a treaty that made neither side happy. |
