WHAT HAPPENED IN THIS COMMITTEE? |
||||||||
|
|
|

|
Our committee went extremely
smoothly for a novice committee, especially for one as specialized as Diplomacy. At the start, no one
had any background knowledge and experience on the game rules and strategies,
but after a two minute explanation and clarification, the delegates quickly
picked up on the game and started planning their next move by themselves.
Our main goal when chairing this committee was to plan out a fair game,
allowing each country to have the same chance at “conquering the world
nicely”, as we put it. We had our funny moments, as the United Kingdom fought
desperately against the French for Belgium. We had our serious moments,
as countries started accusing each other of wrongdoing and aggression.
I was very happy with how the committee was run overall. We were
given a very easy time seeing as how everyone simply played the game.
We were only overseers by the end. At the end of the committee,
the map of Europe had been dramatically shifted, with some prevailing over
others, while others remained almost completely unchanged. |
